How to set badminton net height
The badminton net height standard is 1.55 m at the posts and 1.524 m at the centre. The centre is 26 mm lower because the net sags under tension; that difference is intentional, not a mistake.
Measure at both posts and at the centre with a tape. Posts must stand on the doubles sidelines whether singles or doubles is being played, and the net should be tensioned so there is no gap between its ends and the posts.
For orientation, a tennis net is 0.914 m (3 ft) at the centre, while a volleyball net is far higher. This guide focuses on badminton court setup.
Centre height = post height − 0.026 m The court is 13.4 m long, 6.1 m wide for doubles and 5.18 m wide for singles.
